LAUTECH set to call off strike
The management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has called off the industrial action embarked by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), ending the closure of the institution for almost six months.
According to our reliable source who pleaded anonymity, the University is billed to announce and continue its academic activities for the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic session soon, most likely before the end of the month of August, 2022
Our source also mentioned that a meeting with Joint Action Committee (JAC), has been scheduled for today, Tuesday 16th, August 2022 while security meeting will hold later in the week.
The Source can authoritatively confirm that all is set for the resumption of school activities.
However, when contacted, the Registrar of the university, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye said: “Not yet, the process is on and resumption is in earnest”.
Recall that the institution management had in a similar move in May 2022, announced that the school was pulling out of the strike, and would resume on May 26, 2022. However, members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, LAUTECH chapter refused to resume academic activities despite the management’s order.
